Those autumn leaves burn among the trees
Threaded from wishes and dreams
They hold our hopes and promises
Sewn from loves and tender kisses
The branches twine like lovers' hands
Leafless fingers threading into unbreakable bands
Burning lips glowing orange and red
Pressed together until they bled
Memories and cooing doves
Bound together to create this love
The green, supple leaves have taken their dive
Now laugh, my children, for autumn has arrived
